The Maine Family Literacy Initiative is designed to support the development and/or improvement of family literacy throughout the state of Maine.

The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy has provided $4,341,991 in family literacy grants to 243 Maine Family Literacy (MEFLI) Programs since 1996.
